Raise Your Standards. (Or, Lower Them, Rather.)

Greggy took Hannah and I food shopping on Monday. This may have also been the day that Hannah said there was no way you could make just four cookies in a batch. Man, I proved that sucker wrong.

I had two chem tests and a Psych paper. In total, it took me about 2 hours to do all of that. I was the first one finished with the lab test! Helps if I don't have to wait for my partner to catch up...

Rachel and I hung out and went to a park and bought a gift for an engaged friend. I like Rachel May. She's a good human. Did I mention that I ran into her in the temple last week? Life is crazy.

Who remembers Uncle Mike? This guy is the only one I know who
can actually mask the taste of raisins in a cookie. He's fun.

Lauren and I did some shopping of our own for Chels. Right after we had pancakes and twerked on chairs, despite Lauren's flesh-eating virus. We found almost everything we needed, so Hannah and I made a stop to a less...Mormon store.

Greg and I chilled with the Lindon Hutchins, watching Pirates of the Caribbean. Great movie.

The Four Amigos.
I met up with Lauren again, plus Ho'o and Chelsey, for Kaitlyn's reception. I still haven't really met her husband, but she seems happy, which is all that matters really.

Then we met up with Mandy for Chels' bachelorette party at CA Pizza Kitchen. Good times with good friends, even if Lauren is a conniving sneak. Somehow I still love her. And just remember Chels, it could have been much worse.

Car pics, bc it was COLD outside.
And in other news, I will NOT be homeless in a month because I found a place to live in AZ! Holla back. And hopefully, I will also pass my certification test and will really have a job. I've been studying enough, it better freaking pay off.

Livin in the Sunlight, Sleeping in the Moonlight

I like Provo in the summer. There's less people. The only problem is that it still randomly decides to snow sometimes, which makes me mad.

I went to FHE this week and we just talked about all the fun things we want to do this summer: Spikeball, long boarding the canyon, frisbee, aggressive zigzagging races.... I said I would come for the food.

Speaking of food, my lack of commitments currently is giving me a lot more time to cook my own meals. Prep time is at an all-time high of 10 minutes and my paninis are delicious. One time I even made tortillas.

I kind of got fired from my job. Basically since it's research, only undergrads are allowed to do it and since I walked at graduation (even though I'm technically not graduating until July))) I count as a graduate. So that stinks.

But it gives me more time to study for one of the biggest tests of my life: the BOC. Which I study 6h a day for. It's in 2.5 weeks. And certifies me to be an ATC, which is my qualification for working in AZ, so I better pass.

In my spare time, I teach Lance's youth group to play quidditch, read (A LOT - ask me how many times I found the word 'tome' this week? At least 4), play with Hannibal's adorable child (for my psych devo class), and I've started watching A Very Potter Musical, and am making large piles of stuff to get rid of. I also do rehab for 3+ hours/day.

A Full Revolution or Two

At family dinner last Sunday, the Gregster and I had a chat with the Chin, during which I mentioned Greg's confusion at my use of the word "tome". He didn't know it meant book either. I justified it as an uncommon word until I found it three times this week. Vocab up, chumps.
Wait til we start our B&B with ferrets.

I had my 2 week checkup at the hospital after a 2.5h wait. Doug talked to me for 5 minutes, ripped off my steri strips, and answered a few questions. Kurt checked in for about 10s.
Saw this dog driving a car.

My chem lab partner is named Megumi. She's nice and smart so we get done way before everyone else. (But then, she's in no hurry to leave, which stresses me out a tad). The TA I sassed day 1 is mostly avoiding me. I'll count that as a win.
Sunlight in the bro tank.

I sat out in the sunlight a lot. It feels good on my leg. And my skin. Gotta get that VitD, know what I'm sayin?? I also called Moriah at least twice. She is like sunshine herself.
This kid.

Wednesday I got a massage from Viv, which hurt real bad for about 30s of it. But something magical happened because after that, I could ride a bike like an almost normal human. Enough to get some real cardio at least. Which made me so intensely happy :)

I have more time to cook in spring. No clinicals, just 2 classes and a BOC exam to study for. So I made myself a bounteous feast.
Haha. This is good stuff.

ACon's friend Josh came over and puked all night. We watched The Dark Knight while he kept at it. Savannah made Nutella cupcakes for her friend and left us some. They were magical.
Yum.

The crew hit up Chels' bridal shower. We ate all the food, made all the jokes, and planned the bachelorette party. (Apparently, I was kicked out of the planning committee for my non-Utah kosher ideas.)

Got to hang out with this chick. Always a good time. Unless her date poops in her car. In which case, it's less good. But also the best story I've heard in a while.
Classy.

My friend Jake called his bishop from 3 years ago to ask if we could use his canoes. Greg and I hit him up on Saturday with our frozen grapes. It was fun and we didn't even get attacked by geese once.
Getting in was the hardest part.
And we rode back in style.
The QD crew watched Interstellar. I hated it. It was well done - Chris Nolan & Hans Zimmer really know how to make a movie. The whole thing just stressed me out.

And also I found my mission journals. So here's a quote for you:
Mallory: It's amazing the things badges can get you.
Me: Like what?
Malls: A free ride to adventure.

Fruit Flies Like Bananas

Good news: I'm allowed to walk if it doesn't hurt. Bad news: It hurts.

Updates, Week One: I do 3 hours of rehab a day and it's my favorite part. I have 71 degrees of flexion and -2 of extension. I'm off painkillers, so my head feels great and my leg doesn't. Sometimes I sleep through the night. Sometimes I sleep on the couch. The wounds are still juicing. They better close up soon, or I'll run out of saran wrap to use in the shower.

It's that time of year.

My friends take care of me. Cam watched Batman with me. Lauren, Jake, and Emarie brought me food. Dragon brought me some bandaids. Kassie came to chat. Other Jake found me a canoe. Moriah FaceTimed me. Twice. Ashlyn drives me to campus. And all my friends in the training room put up with my shiz.

I am the pancake king.

School started on Tuesday and I already hate it. I'm taking 2 classes: Developmental Psych (which should be a breeze) and a Chem lab (where I got yelled at day one for being sassy).

First DevPsych reading and I find Derek's baby pic???
Don't worry, I pulled a Mom for modesty.

It was sunny and wonderful this week and I love being outside and wish I could move my body. Or swim.
Why did I find this so funny?

ACon had a birthday this week, so we went out with her family for tacos and ice cream. They're a fun group. It was nice to hang out with them again when I wasn't dying from the drugs (like last week after graduation...) We watched creepy YouTube videos and learned about the game "Bully Beatdown".

I'm all about the fanart.
I bought a book. #Adulting. I finished it day one and it's so good, I'm geeking out. Which isn't usually the case, but Sarah Maas knows how to write a book. Sheesh.
