Give me liberty (from school) or give me burnout!

I'm just done with school. I took a ridiculous comp exam (and passed) and all my clinicals are delayed and I don't get to take the real boards exam for another year now - and you still expect me to do homework and study for exams??? lol.

MGH: I'm going to wear this every week!
Brandi and I cranked out a video practical in one take. (Practicals aren't so bad, honestly). And we had a nice chat with Val and cleaned out our lockers and took Beth some flowers (and Brandi got caught dropping them off). And I "studied" for another test. And attended class in body, but not in mind. I hate school.

Me: Carry me on your back.
Wednesday I never have class anymore, so Rog, Becky, Amy, and I went hiking by Beaver Creek again. Friday I also never have class, so I went running with Joe. I also had an appointment with my doc where he agreed to meet in-person to check out my stability. And Saturday, I convinced Roger to join a group going to the Verde River hot springs (road closed) and ended up swimming in the frigid water and he even caught a frog.

One of my go-to poses.
We made stupid good wings with that mustard and watched the pilots of a pirate show (Black Sails) and a spinoff series (the Librarians). We replanted a camera and built up a blind in the middle of an aspen grove and mooched off Mike Palmer for dinner (pizza & wings).

This is where I live. And it's much better in person.

Birthday Week of Fun (v27)

It was a loaded week. During which we learned all of our first clinicals are cancelled - meaning we now have ten weeks free, and start on July 20th, do our 2 & 3 clinicals, get a Christmas break, and reschedule our final clinical for Jan 4 - Mar 12. And we don't pay any more, but it's also longer until we get paid. So. That sucks.

All I want in life.
It was my birthday when I found out. But I felt ok because Roger kept feeding me hamburgers that were stupid good. And I got some fresh kicks and a poison ring and a sword and books and flowers and OJ. And ring pops, which Roger thought was really funny.

I sliced my own lemon experiment with said sword.
Roger and I have been watching the Librarian trilogy for free on Vudu and he loves it. And making delicious food (which uses every single dish in the house in its creation). And I've been doing PT and Nike workouts and running on Joe's alter-G (which has been so nice on my joints and cardio system). And I make bread all the time and now have no yeast.

Yummy toast.
Friday was the worst day. I took a five hour comprehensive exam (which I passed by a lot) and went running and worked out and did laundry before I ate so I was so hangry. To a ridiculous extent. And my clothes didn't dry and I lost a potato and there were no tomatoes at the store and I burnt my hamburger and had a meltdown. So Roger made me food and told me nice things.

We went on another 6-mile hike, this time in my favorite red rocks outside of Sedona. It was nice bc the desert was all in bloom and we were hiking along a river, so the trees were bright green and we got engaged and sunburned and hike back out so we could hang out with Paislee and eat tacos.

Tree.
And Brandi got home just in time for church with homemade bread. And Roger and I painted all day. And watched a sad movie and I talked to Kassie, my delightful mission daughter.

Par-tea (P-A-R-T-Y)

The terrible news of the week is this: NAU has decided to postpone our 30wk clinicals by 10 weeks. We're not exactly sure what the implications of that are right now as far as graduation, etc. but we have a meeting tomorrow to find out. More importantly in the interim, if you have any thoughts on where I should live or what I should do until July 20th, LMK. FR THO.

I'm still doing PT and my NTC app errday. I'm hoping to sneak into the Institute gym sometime this week so I don't have to worry about downstairs neighbors and find a treadmill I can use. Because it's snowing again.

MGH wants us to send her a list of the colors we paint with.
I took a practice test for my boards exam and passed (barely). So I've been going over that and I feel good about it. I've been studying a lot for the comprehensive exam (which is like a mock board exam) this Friday and once that's done, my mind will no longer care about school for a while. I'm psyched for that. Plenty of time to make my own Tea Tippers parody.

And she's so into colors, she named a bird "Tan".
Roger and I went to Page for Easters and so we could go on a birthday hike for Stu. I actually just took a leisurely 6mi stroll through the wilderness alone so my knee didn't hate me. We had delicious food both days, dropped some of my stuff into storage, and learned a new country dance move (and it's not a chest bump that I incorporated and Roger hated).

La piece de resistance.

Joseph Smith Conference 2020

This week was LESS fun as our teachers kind of figured out zoom (real-time) in classes that would normally be 100% patient care at this point. And I've still been studying for comps, so I'm not NOT busy.

But I have been distracted. Because I figured out enough sewing stuff to finish Moriah's dress. And had enough leftover fabric to make myself a shirt which I made up in my head and turned out pretty good considering. Actually both turned out pretty good when you realize I ignored all the sewing terms I didn't recognize and barely looked at the pictures.

I went on some walks in the nature and kept up with PT and my Nike workouts online. I'm really getting into this Marco Polo app for my socialization and I feel good about it. Also, my first clinical rotation said they're counting on me still attending despite corona (at odds with the 40% of sites who have cancelled on my classmates).

We made some good food this week - kielbasa, cookies, bread x 4, salsa, phillie cheese steaks. And by WE, I mean that Roger did the cooking and I did the baking. Because that's how this relationship works.

And here are the GC notes 2020 (speed edition):

"Turning Point" Moments: new logo, worldwide fast April 10, temples in Saudi & China (!), youth speakers, a hosanna shout (we should've been there), and a new proclamation to the world.

Key Messages:
- Trust in & center your lives around Christ & His Atonement
- Study the Book of Mormon daily while seeking personal revelation
- Go to the temple (when possible) and in the meantime, do family history
- Share your light with others. We need them to build us. We need YOU to build us.
- Have hope for God DOES hear you.

Favorite Speakers: Holmes, Eyring, and Holland.

What a blessing. Joseph Smith Conference 2020 freaking rocked. Can't wait to study the messages some more.
