Statistically, 9/10 Injections Are In Vein(s). Lol.

Surgery. La chirurgie. 

I hurt my knee playing quidditch. Based on the MRI, we knew a few things were wrong that warranted surgery, but it was hard to tell exactly. Je me suis blessé au genou en jouant le quidditch. De l'IRM, on savait que j'aurai besoin de la chirurgie, mais on ne savait le dégâts totaux encore.

Voila, la quidditch. Nous nous abordons. Apparement, c'est dangereux.

So the docs cut me open on Thursday and grafted in a new ACL, maybe sewed up my MPFL, and cut off a flap of meniscus that I tore. Et donc, jeudi le docteur m'a coupé pour faire greffer une nouvelle LCA, coudre le LPFM, et retirer une partie de ménisque.

They also told me that I chipped my patella when I dislocated it, which took off a huge chunk of cartilage. And I fractured my femur and bruised my tibial plateau. Les docteurs m'ont aussi dit que j'ai ébréché ma rotule quand elle s'est disloqué, mon fémur est fracturé, et mon tibia est meurtri. 



Surgery went fine and thus begins the 6-8 month recovery. Good thing I'm a PT and do this on the daily with other people. La chirurgie s'est bien passée et je commence la reprise de 6 à 8 mois. C'est bien que je suis physiothérapeute et je dirige la réadaptation des autres quotidiennement. 

J'ai survécu.

Other stuff. D'autres choses. 

I finished my exams (3 of them) and maybe got some pity points for being in serious pain. J'ai terminé mes examens et peut-être eu quelques points de pitié pour la gravité de ma blessure.

The night before surgery, I went to Cubby's with some good friends so I could stuff my face before my fasting started at midnight. La nuit avant, on est allé chez Cubby's pour célébrer la fin du semestre et pour faire la gourmandise avant de jeûner pour la chirurgie.

Il faut marquer aussi le genou qui n'est pas pour couper.

After, I got a pizza, smoothie, and a good night's sleep on the couch. I almost died when I woke up, but felt a ton better after a chat with Brett, a shower, and some pain meds. Après, j'ai eu un pizza, un smoothie, et une bonne nuit de sommeil sur le canapé. J'ai failli mourir quand je me suis réveillé, mais j'ai ressenti mieux après avoir parlé avec Brett et avoir pris une douche et les drogues.

I rolled up to graduation in a wheelchair. Then I went to dinner with the roommates, who bought ACon and I flowers. The sweethearts. J'ai pris un fauteuil roulant à l'obtention du diplôme. Puis toutes mes colocataires sont allées dîner ensemble. Elles ont achetés des fleurs pour moi et Alexis qui finirons en juin. Mignon. 

Je suis finie. (Ou presque...)

Saturday I slept in and hung out with the neighbors for a bit outside. The sunlight felt good. Then Lauren Rigby came over to watch a movie. Samedi je restais sur le soleil. Mmmm. Ça sentait bien. Ensuite, Lauren est venue regarder un film avec moi.

Les nuages étaient un peu bizarre le soir.

The drugs make my head weird. I went to church for an hour and cried the whole time. I didn't throw up though. Les drogues me rendent bizarre à la tête. (Plus qu'avant...) Je me suis allé à l'église où j'ai  trop pleuré. Mais je n'ai pas vomi, donc on le compte comme une victoire. 

I slept and ate (courtesy of Lauren) and iced. Now all I want is to go canoeing, so if you know a guy.... Globalement je vais bien. J'ai dormi et mangé (merci encore à Lauren) et glacé. Maintenant, tout ce que je veux c'est faire du canoë. (Et jouer au basket, mais ça viendra plus tard...)
