You Can't Help Jesus If You're Dead

This was my last week of summer normalcy before I head off for a 3-week camping adventure. So I spent it getting my shiz together.

I met with my new CI for the first internship (July-September) and we had a nice chat and I found out which clinic he works at (process of elimination). I also renewed my credentials - by spending a day in PHX for a BLS renewal course and getting my annual Tb test.

All that for a splinter.
Then I set up my second internship - at the VA outpatient here in Prescott, which hopefully will cover all the requirements of my inpatient experience. The VA means fingerprints, a million years of paperwork, 4 hours of online training, and (hopefully) a stipend. And the old guy fingerprinting me didn't even care that I brought in a copy of my passport, since "we finally had a 10 come get fingerprinted" *wink*. (I did get fingerprinted here about 3 months ago with the actual, but it's currently in storage so they let me off the hook.)

In between all that and working for UberEats, I helped out at the house. The cabinets are installed, the countertops are in (but not buffed yet), the wood flooring and stairs are done, and the tile in the showers is so close. I also painted the support beams on the bottom of the deck because we can't have any exposed beams as part of a safety regulation and we had to get it done before Josh came to finish the deck the next day.

The painted deck. That doesn't look like it, but I promise it is.
I also got to talk to the CO Hutchins for their Sacrament Mtg, where they tried to convince me to move to Wyoming. At least Roger's on their side. I like being warm too much.

Green Eggs & Ham

Another week on the grind - UberEats continues (when I'd rather be cranking for a T-shirt company. Becky and I worked out (when possible), including a crazy EMOM workout that left us sore for days. And we went to the pool (where Becky didn't drown and Marshall figured out he can walk in the shallows).

The work on their house has amped up and Becky/Brandt are chugging on their house every night to get it done while my advisor is exploring all our options in Prescott for clinical rotations. Pray on that.

I ran up to Flag on Friday to help Becky rent a UHaul to pick up cabinets. Then I got to hang out with Roger and the kids got to see their grandparents for the weekend. We ran errands (lots of shopping, ugh). And set up our own water tank near a salt & camera that Roger leaves out. And we introduced the fam to A Knight's Tale. Classic.

We had French Toast and headed down to Phoenix to see Carson and get Roger fitted for a suit for his wedding. I like Carson. We met the Bales (for food) and saw the temple and called MGH before beating the traffic back up.

Bearizona

After hanging in Page last weekend, I drove over to Mesquite to hang with Hannah and Markies (and bring him some business). We planned fun trips and weird surprises and played with the kid. And did some work on my car.

She only likes me for my glasses.
In honor of Memorial Day (belated), we did the Murph challenge and did NOT have our arms swell up afterwards - but were very sore. It involves running 1 mi, 100 pullups (or tricep dips lol), 200 pushups, and 300 squats, and then another mile.

I worked a little and made bread and did laundry so we were ready to go to Flag on Friday. Becky needed to grab some tools from the trailer and Roger was going to be there anyways, so we made a trip of it.

These is the kids.
The kids, Carol, and I made use of a year pass to Bearizona - a drive through zoo, with a walkable section. It was pretty cool. And Roger was jealous because he hasn't been to a zoo (aside from when he was 6, which wasn't great and he can't really remember).

And we had a playdate with another kid.
Then we went and looked at mattresses. Now taking recommendations.
